Stamps for a Masonic Occasion
(Part 1)
For some years stamps and covers have been issued by various countries to mark a particular Masonic occasion, but it is only recently that English Freemasons have followed suite, generally with a set of four and miniature sheet. Other countries have been content with a single issue or perhaps a short-set of two or three. The examples bellow were some of the first.
On 1st May, 1992, Jamaica issued a set of four stamps to commemorate the 250th Anniversary of the First Provincial Grand Master E.C.of Jamaica. The ‘Province’ became a ‘District’ in 1866, when all Provinces outside England were similarly renamed.
The stamps were available in the miniature sheets shown or individually.
